Welcome to the ZimMusic Production Music Library Sample and Search Page.

On this page you will find a list of each CD in the library, each with a brief description. To access the samples on any CD just click the title. The music is arranged by date of completion, so the newest music is always at the top of the list.

Instead of browsing through each CD you can also use the simple search engine on this page to look for specific kinds of music.

Any cue can be sampled. While most samples are 30", each cue is also available in 60" or full length versions, as AIF, WAV or mp3 files.

Zim36 Lighter Moments
These cues reflect the lighter side of life. Subtle, sly, bouncey and fun.


Zim35 Kinetic Energy 2
A companion set to Kinetic Energy (Zim17), with all new music tracks. Percussive and colorful music beds evoking images of science and medicine, communications and technology.


Zim34 Strong Strings
Orchestral strings are highlighted in a variety of settings. From strong and determined to upbeat and classy, these cues will work well in scenes of business, education, government, military and anywhere that needs a strong orchestral touch.


Zim33 On the Edge
Raw, edgy, fuzzy, driving, hot and deep grooves. Sparse arrangements: just drums, bass and electric guitars.

Zim32 Time Passages
Percussive tracks evoking images of time, deadlines, working through problems, etc. Great for business and corporate videos as well as film/tv underscores.


Zim31 Piano Works 2
Alternate versions of the cues from Piano Works (Zim6). Most of the orchestral strings have been replaced by guitars and pads for a more updated pop/rock sound. Several of the pieces have a "sounds like" quality to them, covering bands like Coldplay and U2.


Zim30 Sunshiny Day 2
Alternate mixes of Sunshiny Day (Zim18). Acoustic guitar music with pads, electric guitars, drums and winds. Happy, fun, and flowing.


Zim29 Pop Nation 2
Alternate mixes and revamped versions of the music from Pop Nation (Zim7). Generally "heavier" mixes, with new instrumentation, but still a collection of pop music cues with a hint of bubblegum and a dash of the sixties.

Acoustic, processed and electric guitars, with sparse and evocative accompaniment create landscapes of beauty, mystery and introspection.


Zim27 Positive Energy 2
Companion set to Zim21: Positive Energy. A combination of brand new tracks and re-mixes. Driving, upbeat, positive, motivational, and energetic tracks. No solos or stand out instruments so these pieces will sit well in the mix.


Zim26 Urban Landscapes 2
A companion set to Zim 22. Less moody and atmospheric and more fun, funky, jazzy and loose, while still being built around urban beats. Perfect for music transitions, set-ups and background tracks.


Zim25 Synthology 2
Alternate versions of the cues from Synthology(Zim24) with new acoustic piano, electric guitar and string parts. A bit less stark and edgy and a bit more poppy with these added instruments.

What is old eventually becomes new again. Pop and rock music featuring both retro and contemporary electronic and synthesized sounds is hot . While composers, including myself, use the newest electronic tools to simulate real, acoustic instruments, electro and synth pop/rock music seeks to emphasize an obvious synthy sound.


Zim23 Simply Piano
Sometimes simple is best. These pieces for solo acoustic piano are not complex or complicated. They represent feelings and emotions that we can all relate to.

Acoustic guitar music with little dabs of electric guitar and piano flavorings. Happy, fun, flowing, and sometimes whimsical. Folky, but with a pop feel as well.

Energetic, percussive and evocative music beds for corporate, business, science, technology, etc. These beds are propulsive and driving, yet have a nice textural sense to them

Zim16 Chill Pill
Atmospheric pop/rock music for acoustic piano, electric guitars, bass, drums and ambient pads. This is not soft rock but rather pop/rock with a soft edge. Simple structures and no stand out soloing make this collection perfect for background music tracks.

Cues inspired by the musical genre called minimalism , but with a decidedly pop feel. Colorful instrumentation and arrangements which range in mood from percolating, positive and upbeat to contemplative and introspective. Although the style is based on repetition, each piece has a strong sense of momentum and building.


Zim12 Perfect Day
Pop/rock music for acoustic piano, guitars, bass and drums. No synths and no drum loops. Real playing that has a live feel . Simple structures that make this collection perfect for background music. Moods range from upbeat and optimistic to flowing and pretty .


Zim11 Summer of Love
Cues inspired by the pop and psychedelic music of the mid to late sixties. Cues in the style of many of the bands from that time period including several Beatles inspired tracks. Nostalgic yes, but also joyous, colorful and full of life. Turn on the black light and enjoy!

Music with a global feel, but not overly ethnic. Worldly music without being world music . International without an obvious or absolute sense of place. These versatile tracks are driven by percussion and rhythms that are global in nature,accompanied by a variety of acoustic instruments from around the world including a beautiful African guitar.

Zim6 Piano Works
A collection of piano rock and pop music with orchestral strings in accompaniment. Several of the cues are style studies of either specific contemporary songs or of a band or artist s general oeuvre.


Zim5 Beauty and the Beat
A collection of groove oriented pieces. But no electic bass, guitar or electronic keyboards. Instead there is cello, viola, violin, oboe, english horn, acoustic piano and some pads. Moods range from evocative and haunting to playful, hip, and funky.


Zim4 The Basement Band
A collection of rock pieces for electric guitars, bass, and drums. No keyboards or synths. Nothing over the top heavy and nothing too light. Loosely played with the feel of a live band "working it out "in the basement or garage. Real emotions. Simple and straightforward arrangements and structures. Pieces range from moody and dark to energetic and fun.
